The Berovo Lake

The lake is an area of 0.57 km. The dam was built in 1970. The height of 60 m. makes it one of the largest arch dams in the Republic of Macedonia.
On the road from Berovo to the Berovo Lake there is an active nunnery St ‘Archangel Michail’ built in 1815. Due to the relatively high altitude, this area is characterized by fresh summers and cold winters. The favorable position in pure and untouched nature is due to the altitude of 1000 meters. Lake provides sport fishing, beautiful fields for a picnic, recreation and sports. Lately, this lake is visited by organized foreign tourists.
In Berovo and Maleshevia are preparing many traditional medicines from natural ingredients for various diseases. From this area you can not leave without syrup or honey pine, cure for diseases of the respiratory organs. Because of the abundance of greenery, meadows and pastures, as well as clean air, the cheese of Berovo is well known for its superb taste.
